Governor-Elect Moore’s Upcoming Inauguration
The 2023 Inauguration of Gov. Wes Moore and Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller Features Swearing In Ceremony and Events
On January 18, Maryland Governor-Elect Wes Moore will be sworn into office, making him the first Black governor of Maryland and the third time any state in the U.S. has elected a Black governor. The Swearing In Ceremony will also usher in Lieutenant Governor-Elect Aruna Miller. The event is free and open to the public. In celebration of the incoming administration, the Inauguration of Wes Moore and Aruna Miller will feature special events and programming, highlighting the big event:
“The People’s Ball” to celebrate the inauguration of Moore and Miller will take place at the Baltimore Convention Center on the night of Jan. 18, hours after the two are sworn into office at the Maryland State House in Annapolis.
“It’s an honor to join in the inauguration of Maryland’s next Governor, Wes Moore,” said D-Nice, an internationally acclaimed and award-winning artist and DJ who launched his revolutionary global dance party, Club Quarantine, with his Instagram Live sets. “The People’s Ball is a chance for Marylanders to come together and celebrate this historic moment. And I’ll bring the music!”
