High Endorsements And Support For Alsobrooks' Senate Run
Governor Moore, Lt. Governor Miller, Will Jawando And Other Maryland Leaders Endorse Angela Alsobrooks For Senate
Surrounded by hundreds of supporters at a Baltimore United for Angela Rally, Angela Alsobrooks received a major endorsement from Governor Wes Moore, calling Angela the leader Maryland needs to represent us in the United States Senate.
“Today, I am proud to announce my endorsement of County Executive Angela Alsobrooks to be Maryland’s next United States Senator. The world needs America’s leadership now more than ever. The country needs Maryland’s leadership now more than ever, and that leader is Angela Alsobrooks!" said Governor Wes Moore.
Angela and Governor Moore were joined by Montgomery County Councilmember At-Large and former U.S. Senate candidate Will Jawando, who also endorsed her campaign, pointing to her impressive record of service for Marylanders in Prince George’s County.
Angela also earned the support of Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA), as well as organizations including the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, EMILYs List, Delta for Women in Action (D4), The Collective PAC, and Higher Heights for America.
“It’s time for Democrats to coalesce behind the strongest candidate who has the best chance to win this race and who fights for Marylanders with every bone in their body. I am certain that candidate is my friend Angela Alsobrooks, and that’s why I am excited to announce that I am endorsing her to be Maryland’s next Senator,” said Councilmember Jawando.
“Governor Moore is a champion for Maryland, putting in place policies that support new infrastructure and transportation, education, a healthy environment, and programs to uplift hardworking Marylanders. I am honored to receive his endorsement,” said Alsobrooks. “I look forward to a continued partnership with Governor Moore and as a U.S. Senator.”
Angela has spent her life in public service. After law school, Angela worked as a law clerk for the Howard County Circuit Court and later the Baltimore City Circuit Court before becoming a line prosecutor in the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. Angela, who served two terms as Prince George’s County State’s Attorney and is the sitting County Executive, is running for the U.S. Senate to be a voice for the families she’s worked for throughout her life.
“I am also honored to have my friend Councilmember Jawando’s support. He serves Montgomery County with integrity, vision, and his whole heart, and I know that we will continue to work together to improve the lives of Marylanders,” added Angela. “Additionally, I’m honored to have the endorsements of Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, who works hard each day on behalf of all Marylanders, and Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, who I have had the privilege to work collaboratively with as we made critical decisions to keep Marylanders safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am also humbled by the endorsement of Baltimore County Councilman Julian Jones who cares deeply for the residents he serves.”
More than 100 leaders from across the state have endorsed Angela’s campaign, including Senator Chris Van Hollen, Congressman Steny Hoyer, Congressman Kweisi Mfume, Congressman Glenn Ivey, and many more.
