A Win For Prince George’s County Nonprofits
Prince George’s County To Host NonProfit Empowerment Symposium To Uplift Local Nonprofits
Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks will host a NonProfit Empowerment Symposium on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Prince George’s Community College Center for Performing Arts. The event, hosted by the County Executive’s Office of Strategic Partnerships, will connect local nonprofits with millions of dollars in grant funding opportunities while focusing on The C3 Experience: Connect, Collaborate and Cultivate relationships.
“We are Prince George’s Proud to host this day-long symposium that will uplift the 7,000 nonprofits that call Prince George’s County home,” Alsobrooks said. “Nonprofits are such critical partners for our government, helping serve and support our residents and extending the reach of our government services. We will continue to find new ways to partner with and support our nonprofits so they are able to thrive in Prince George’s.”
The Symposium provides an opportunity for nonprofits to receive information, resources, and grant opportunities to educate and empower their organization, board members, leadership, staff, and volunteers. Presentations and panel discussions will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed immediately by a networking reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event is free for nonprofits, but registration is required in advance at https://NPC3Symposium.eventbrite.com.
The event will feature presentations including at least $48 million in state and local grant funding opportunities for nonprofits. In addition, representatives from U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen’s office and Congressman Glenn Ivey’s office will provide presentations on funding opportunities via federal earmarks. Some of the local and state grant opportunities include:
· Local
County Executive’s Office Community Partnership Grant Program
Prince George’s County Council Grant Opportunities
Prince George’s County Department of Housing and Community Development, Community Development Block Grant Program
· State
