District Heights Giant Food Location Selected For Community Bag Program

More Than $400,000 Donated To Over 1,400 Local Nonprofits

For the entire month of May, store leadership at Giant Food’s District Heights, MD location (5500 Silver Hill Road) has selected The Training Source to receive a $1 donation from every purchase of the $2.50 Giant Food Community Bag. The Community Bag Program facilitates community support with the goal of making a difference in the vicinity where shoppers live and work. More than $400,000 has been donated to over 1,400 local nonprofits since the Program launched in July 2019.

“We are thrilled to be selected by the District Heights Giant as the May charity to benefit from the Community Bag Program,” said Kim Rhim, Executive Director of The Training Source. “Funds received from this program will be used to provide youth and adult job training, and college readiness and scholarships for youth.”

The Training Source is an award-winning nonprofit based in Seat Pleasant that is celebrating 30 years of service to Prince George’s County and the region.
