Alsobrooks’ Appearance On MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ Elevates County National Profile

Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks made an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this week in her role as candidate for the United States Senate. Alsobrooks fielded a round of questions from the panel and the hosts on topics ranging from her achievements as county executive such as winning the new FBI headquarters to women’s health rights and the future.

  For the county, the June 17 interview represented yet another opportunity for Prince George’s to reach its greater potential.

  The appearance is significant as Alsobrooks’ evolution to the national stage (although it isn’t her first time on the network). Morning Joe, a news, culture and lifestyle show with a blockbuster four-hour format, is watched by 963,000 people each morning. It’s a combination recap and day starter show that serves as an excellent showcase for introducing new leaders, new trends as well as a discussion platform for political and cultural issues for its politically left leaning, general market audience. Alsobrooks was a natural on their air.

In the same week, another Maryland leader, Gov. Wes Moore appeared on the network. The governor announced his pardon of 175,000 residents convicted of marijuana possession and/sales.
