Prince George’s County Seeks Volunteers for Spending Affordability Committee
Prince George’s County is recruiting volunteers for the Spending Affordability Committee. The five-member panel makes recommendations to the County Executive, County Council, and the Office of Management and Budget regarding spending affordability and ways to improve the County’s budgetary procedures and policies. The ideal volunteers will have accounting and budget experience.
The Committee’s job is to consider economic factors and assess income streams to provide guidelines to steer county spending, including recommendations for allocating funds for education, debt service and all other general government expenditures.
Prince George’s County prides itself on using citizen boards and commissions to advise elected officials and county leadership on a wide variety of crucial quality of life issues. Community involvement in these boards and commissions is an important and valued part of county government. Residents can bring new ideas to the table that represent diverse voices within the community, giving Prince George’s County the input that is needed to help make the most informed decisions possible.
