Gaining MoMENtum
Conference Aims To Give Boys Real World Leadership Training
Across Prince George’s County, a series of upcoming events is giving young people — especially young men — a chance to build confidence, explore leadership, and learn the skills needed to navigate today’s complicated world.
At the center of these activities is the MoMENtum Men and Boys Conference, an inspiring gathering designed to help guide the next generation toward positive leadership and responsible decision-making. The event, titled “MoMENtum: Men Strengthening the Way for Youth to Lead the Change,” will bring together students, mentors, educators, and community leaders for a day of discussion and empowerment.
Scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 8 a.m., the MoMENtum Conference will feature conversations focused on issues that many teens face but rarely have a structured place to discuss. Topics include the influence of social media, safe encounters with law enforcement, healthy teen relationships and dating, and the importance of mental health awareness. Organizers say the goal is to create a supportive environment where young men can ask questions, learn from mentors, and develop the tools needed to become confident leaders in their communities.
