We are so heartbroken to learn of the passing of Hyattsville Mayor Kevin Ward. It is impossible to put into words how devastating it is for such a beautiful community to lose an outstanding leader, and my heart breaks for his community in this unbelievably difficult time. He was a wonderful partner in serving the needs of all our residents, and he accomplished so much for Hyattsville during his time as a Councilmember and his time as Mayor.

We will continue to uplift his family, friends and loved ones in our prayers during this difficult time. Our County knows that Mayor Ward was an integral and irreplaceable member of the Prince George’s County community and that this is devastating news for thousands of individuals who were blessed enough to be touched by his loving and caring spirit.
