About Snow Removal
What Went Wrong With Snow Removal This Week?
By Wala Blegay // County Councilmember, District 6
Dear District 6 Residents,
I hope this message finds you well. I understand the frustration and safety concerns many of you have experienced due to inadequate snow removal throughout our district and the county. I want to assure you that I have heard your concerns and am actively working to address them.
My office has been in constant communication with the Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), reporting unplowed and unsafe roads brought to our attention by residents. I have also reached out to council leadership to request a hearing to understand what went wrong with the execution of snow removal and to ensure we address these issues for future events.
Snow removal is a critical service, and we must do better to prioritize the safety of our community. I encourage you to continue sharing specific locations of unplowed or hazardous streets with my office. We are committed to advocating for immediate action and greater accountability from the responsible departments.
Thank you for your patience and for entrusting my office to address these issues on your behalf. Together, we can work toward improving the services that our residents deserve.
Respectfully,
Wala Blegay, Esq.
