County Executive Angela Alsobrooks Turns Up The Volume for 70s Styled Birthday Bash

By Raoul Dennis

Bell-bottomed hips swingin,  afros bumpin, music thumpin – all hittin that 70s groove that ain’t never wrong.

County Executive Angela Alsobrooks’ 1970s birthday party was at the center of a stone cold groove that had over 200 partyers and well-wishers packed cheek to bell-bottomed cheek at SoBe’s Restaurant & Lounge Feb. 28. Click here for more photos.

From butterfly collars to dashikis, the crowd raised the roof of the lounge in celebration of the county’s popular county executive and her 48th birthday.

Alsobrooks, a very popular rising star in Maryland politics, was surrounded by throngs of cell phone bearing supporters, photographers and videographers and had Hollywood celebrity-like spotlight before she finally hit the dance floor and rocked the rest of the night away.

Far from the standard two-step dance move socialites typically refrain themselves to at many of the nation’s capital events, this party would have made C + C Music Factory proud: dance, heat, sweat, repeat.
