Safeway Reserves Special Shopping Hours For Seniors And Most Vulnerable
As the situation around Coronavirus continues to unfold, Safeway Eastern Division stores in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware are joining Albertsons Companies 2,200+ stores nationwide, to provide special hours for some of the most vulnerable to the Coronavirus .
It has been broadcast all over the media that those who are most vulnerable to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) are seniors and those with weakened immune systems as well as other at-risk populations, such as pregnant women. These are the people who have been strongly advised to remain at home and avoid crowds in order to guard against possible infection.
People are now self-quarantining to help contain the spread of the virus and to avoid becoming infected. Schools are closed, employees are working from home, retail industries, restaurants, bars, and theaters are closed or closing. Grocery stores however remain open to service the public with some offering their customers delivery options.
In their effort to help with the most vulnerable shoppers who must leave home to purchase their groceries, Safeway Eastern Division stores is reserving every Tuesday and Thursday from 7 AM until 9 AM for their shopping convenience
For those customers not as vulnerable, Safeway is asking for consideration and understanding of those more at risk and allow them this time to complete their shopping.
