Go Play In The Park
M-NCPPC is celebrating July As Park and Recreation Month with Programming, Outdoor Concerts, Movies And More
Drum roll please!
Parks and its community centers have re-opened and what better way than to open the doors and proclaim July as Park and Recreation Month. The focus will be on the importance of parks and recreation and the benefits they provide to the people it serves. Maryland-National Capital Parks and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC)’s Department of Parks and Recreation would like to help create great memories with programming, virtual events, outdoor concerts and movies.
This year’s theme for Park and Recreation Month is, “Our Park and Recreation Story,” highlighting the stories of parks and recreation programming has made communities stronger, more vibrant and more resilient.
Finding a new appreciation for essential spaces and part of this year’s theme is the inspiration behind asking residents to submit community stories about what their local parks and recreation means to them. Be sure to check out Your Guide, of over 1,000 in-person and virtual classes, programs, and events. The end result is a summer of energized education and entertainment for diverse tastes throughout the county.
