Independence Day Celebrations Around Prince George’s

Greenbelt

Celebrate Independence Day with friends and neighbors at Buddy Attick Park.  Activities include: Community Drum Circle at 5:30pm - 6:45 pm;  Greenbelt Concert Band at 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm and FIREWORKS approximately 9:00 pm. 

 

Bowie

The City of Bowie will host a free concert and fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday, July 2 at Prince George's Stadium. The concert, by legendary band, The Fabulous Hubcaps, begins at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks are excited to.  Prince George's Stadium is located in Bowie, near BJs and off of Ballpark Road (The address is 4101 Crain Highway). The parking lot opens at 5 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. 

 

Upper Marlboro

July 4th Fest

July 3-6, 2019

Six Flags America  13710 Central Avenue, Upper Marlboro, MD

Celebrate the independence of our country with four jam-packed days of thrills and water park fun on Fourth of July Weekend at Six Flags America. There will be fireworks and live entertainment every night.

College Park

The University of Maryland and the City of College Park host a Fourth of July celebration with fireworks and entertainment from a live band. Grass seating is limited, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream, snow cones, soda and bottled water. Personal coolers are allowed. Alcohol and personal fireworks are prohibited on campus, and leave pets at home. Concessions open at 5 p.m. Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk—about 9 p.m. Rain Date: July 5

Arriving and Parking Tips:

  • Use either the Campus Drive entrance from U.S. Route 1, or the Stadium Drive entrance from Route 193. Follow police directions to parking.

  • Arrive early. Heavy traffic is expected to begin around 7:30 p.m. Late cars will be directed to park in outlying lots, which will offer free parking, but shuttle services will not be available.

  • Disabled visitors are encouraged to arrive early as disabled parking is limited in Lot AA.

  • The best routes to exit campus will be the main Campus Drive gate onto Route 1, or Stadium Drive to Route 193.
