Angie Rodgers will be joining Alsobrooks’ executive leadership team in February as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development. She replaces Raymond Gilley who will be moving to the Department of Housing and Community Development. Additionally, the administration has welcomed two new members to the Intergovernmental Affairs Team, Rhea Harris, who is the Director of the team and Terry Bell, who serves as the County Council Liaison.

Alsobrooks also announced that Deputy Director of Communications, Gina Ford, has been promoted to Director of Communications. Deputy Chief of Staff John Erzen, who had been managing the communications unit, will now focus on public policy and outreach.

“I am Prince George’s Proud to welcome Angie, Rhea and Terry to our team. Their years of experience will help us continue to bring high-quality services to our citizens through a responsive, transparent government that everyone can be proud of,” Alsobrooks said.

More About The New Leaders

Rodgers comes to the county from the District of Columbia where she most recently served as the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. She is looking forward to ensuring that county residents benefit from the same prosperity as residents in other parts of the region.  This includes enjoying amenity-rich neighborhoods, a variety of housing types for people across the income spectrum, support for home-grown businesses and good jobs that are accessible and pay a living wage. She also looks forward to ensuring the county realizes its potential to lead in the solution for inclusive housing and economic growth.

Harris comes to the county from the Maryland State Police where she most recently served as a Special Advisor to Colonel William Pallozzi. One of her responsibilities in this role was to serve as the liaison between the state police and the Legislative Black Caucus. Harris has more than 15 years of legislative experience working with the state police, Washington Gas and the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

Bell comes to the office from the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office where she spent the last eight years as an Assistant State’s Attorney, working as a community prosecutor focused on quality of life crimes. In this role, she built solid relationships with community members, civic associations and HOAs across the county.

In her new role as Communications Director, Ford will handle the day-to-day operations of the Communications Unit, to include being the main point of contact for all media inquiries. As he steps away from day-to-day communications, Erzen will focus more on legislative affairs, labor relations and additional public policy and outreach efforts by the administration.
